Background of the study:
Infrastructure is a critical component of an effective educational environment, influencing everything from classroom comfort to the availability of learning resources. In Ogbomosho North, inadequate infrastructure—including poorly maintained classrooms, insufficient laboratory facilities, and limited technological resources—poses significant challenges to student learning and overall academic success (Adebayo, 2023). Inadequate facilities can lead to overcrowded classrooms, reduced access to essential educational materials, and an overall decline in the quality of the learning environment. These issues not only affect academic performance but also diminish student morale and motivation. Recent studies have shown that investment in school infrastructure has a direct correlation with improved educational outcomes (Oluwaseun, 2024). The deterioration of physical learning environments often forces students and teachers to adapt to suboptimal conditions, hindering effective teaching and learning. This study investigates the extent to which inadequate infrastructure impacts students’ academic success in Ogbomosho North. By assessing the condition of educational facilities and their influence on learning, the research aims to provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements that could lead to enhanced academic performance and a more conducive learning environment (Adebayo, 2023).
Statement of the problem:
In Ogbomosho North, inadequate school infrastructure has been identified as a major factor contributing to substandard academic performance. Poorly maintained facilities, overcrowded classrooms, and a lack of modern resources disrupt the learning process, negatively impacting student achievement. This study seeks to quantify the effects of infrastructural deficits on academic success and identify potential remedial measures (Oluwaseun, 2024).

Significance of the study:
This study is significant as it highlights the critical link between infrastructure and academic success. The findings will guide educational authorities in prioritizing infrastructural investments to create a more effective learning environment in Ogbomosho North (Adebayo, 2023; Oluwaseun, 2024).
Scope and limitations of the study:
The study is limited to assessing the impact of inadequate infrastructure on students’ academic success in Ogbomosho North Local Government Area, Oyo State, and does not consider other extraneous factors affecting educational performance.
